Cédric Asséo
... is a composer and musician from Geneva, Switzerland. After
having followed a classical and jazz training in Switzerland and in
Brasil (where he lived for 8 years), he moved to West Africa (Guinea,
Mali, Burkina Faso).

In 1992 Cédric Asséo lived for 8 months in Guinea
Conakry where he played with leading percussionists
(Fadouba Oularé, Gbanworo Keïta,
Mamady Keïta, Famoudou Konaté)
During this time Cédric Asséo
met flutist Mamady Mansaré (Ballets
Africans) who introduced him to the roots of
Mandingue music, roots which will influence
his new style of music, colourful, subtle and
of mixed race.
